Close Ratio Gearbox
Some classes allow the use of a different gearbox. We can supply and fit after market close ratio gearboxes, produced by either the manufacturers racing division e.g. HRC or YEC, or custom built aftermarket units from Nova Racing.
Shimming
A motorcycle gearbox will have a series of shims to set up the clearance between one gear and another. We often find from the manufacturers that these are not within their own specified tolerances. We can measure the clearances and re-shim the gearbox to the correct tolerance. This will help to reduce wear and give a more positive gear selection.
Clutch
A lot of the Supersport/Superbike machines come with a slipper clutch, or back torque limiter as standard. The standard setting can however be changed to make the clutch operate more efficiently. We can employ our experience to undertake a range of modifications to the standard units, to achieve an optimum setting. There are however limitations to the capabilities of the standard units. We can supply and fit aftermarket units from Sigma or STM. These clutches will not only give superior performance to even a well modified standard unit, but can often offer a significant reduction in weight; reducing rotating mass and increasing performance.
