ECU Flashing
An ECU Flash is a way of tuning a motorbike for optimal performance, by re-mapping the fuel and removing certain restrictions. This type of modification is used to modify the exhaust system, and take advantage of the increased air flow by changing the fuel table.
Tuning your ECU can also improve your air and fuel ratio, in order words, your boost, governed in the engine. Reprogramming the air and fuel ratio can help maximize power as well as thermal efficiency.
The ECU flash is simply to smooth out the throttle, making it less 'jerky'. The item you need if adding an exhaust or changing air filters is something like a power commander which actually controls the air/fuel mixture which determines if the bike is running lean, rich or just right.
All modern engines are controlled by a microprocessor chip; the Electronic Control Unit or ECU.
The ECU is factory pre-programmed to manage a wide range of parameters. Ultimately, this program determines how your engine operates.
The benefits of ECU flashing aren’t necessarily about headline-grabbing power gains, but rather achieving a smoother, more responsive power delivery throughout the rev range. Its primary purpose is to improve rideability. It’s also possible to unlock additional features and capabilities of the ECU – for example,
