Gowland and Wilkinson Confirmed for 2013
GOWLAND AND WILKINSON CONFIRMED AT SETON TUNING YAMAHA
Phil Seton is delighted to announce the signing of Graeme Gowland and Mark Wilkinson for the 2013 season.
Graeme is one of the most talented and respected riders on the British championship racing scene and will make an excellent addition to spearhead the Seton Tuning Yamaha squad in 2013.
The 26 year old from Northumberland contested the final two rounds of last season for the Colchester-based outfit. Graeme was instantly on the pace, putting the Seton Tuning Yamaha at the sharp end, scoring a fourth position in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch. Despite only riding in four races, Graeme’s points tally elevated him to 18th overall in the class, and he was the highest point-scoring Yamaha rider over the closing two rounds.
With more testing time under his belt over the closed season, Graeme has set his sights on making a strong challenge on the crown once the flag drops at Brands Hatch Indy next April.
Australian Mark ‘Wilco’ Wilkinson has re-signed to contest the National Superstock Championship for a second season onboard the Seton Tuning Yamaha YZF-R6.
Mark made his debut on the British racing scene last time out, and after a strong learning year getting to grips with new circuits at almost every round, closed the season out in a highly commendable 20th position.
Phil Seton, Team Principal: “Graeme is one of the most prestigious talents within British motorcycle racing and it is an honour to have him sign for us for next year. Graeme will be a massive attribute to the Seton Tuning Yamaha family. Excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I’m feeling about the prospect of next season. With both Graeme and Mark confirmed on our bikes, we’re expecting a plethora of fantastic results throughout the season."
Graeme Gowland: “I am really happy and looking forward to 2013 with the Seton Tuning team in what's going to be an awesome year of supersport racing! I had two great rounds with Phil and the team at the end of this year where they impressed me with how hard working and passionate they were for our sport. I really enjoyed my racing again so when Phil asked me the question it was a very easy decision for me. I am so pleased to be back in supersport and I can't wait to get started.”
Mark Wilkinson: ‘I am really excited for 2013 with the Seton Tuning Team. We developed a lot together as a team and I am thankful to Phil for putting his faith in me again next season!”
The 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship kicks off at Brands Hatch Indy circuit, Kent over the weekend of 5-7 April.
